Kwemou · "the gathering of all the children"
So our children grow up together.
Kwemou is a community of African families, in Africa and across the diaspora. Families organize outings, weekends and trips; others join them, in their own city or wherever they happen to be. So our children really get to know each other, in person.
Families only · By invitation or after approval
Our families are scattered. Our children are growing up far from one another.
One city here, another over there. Cousins we see once a year, childhood friends who only know each other through a screen. Many of our children grow up without other children who look like them, who share their history, their food, their languages.
Kwemou rebuilds that bond. Not on a screen: around a table, in a park, on the road.

One word for an idea that belongs to everyone.
Kwemou means the gathering, the coming together of children, of all the children. Like Ubuntu, it is a word from one language for an idea all our cultures share: a child grows up better when surrounded.

What's happening at Kwemou.
Meetups organized by families, for families.
Family names and exact locations are for members only.
A community built on trust, because this is about our children.

You join by invitation.
Every family is invited by another, or approved by us.

Children stay protected.
No accounts for children, no photos in public, never an exact location in public.

We talk among ourselves.
Every meetup has its kibaraza, a private chat space just for the families taking part.
Kwemou wasn't born from an app. It was born from a weekend at Futuroscope.
In April 2026, two families spent three days together at Futuroscope. A program, a shared budget, children who wouldn't leave each other's side. We thought: why not do it everywhere, with every family who wants to?

The pioneer families
Even before the platform, two families held the first Kwemou meetup, at Futuroscope, in April 2026: the Kouakep family and the Defo family. They are the pioneer families. They carry the spirit of the community.
Your questions
Who can join Kwemou?
Kwemou brings together African and Afro-descendant families, in Africa and across the diaspora. Every family that shares this vision is welcome: mixed couples, friends of the community, families who want to keep African cultures alive for their children.
How much does it cost?
Until December 31, 2027, the first year is free. You can also pay a founding price right away and keep it for life. On top of that, each meetup has its own budget, shared among the families taking part.
In which cities?
Wherever families organize. The first meetups took place around Lyon; any new family can launch Kwemou in their own city.
